Do you offer whole school discos?

Yes we can do a prep-grade 6 disco however if your school is large we recommend separating the juniors (prep-3) and seniors (4-6) so we can tailor the music and genre to be age appropriate. We suggest an hour session for the juniors and an hour and a half for seniors.

Can parents and teachers be involved in the school disco?

Yes! We highly recommend teachers and parents getting involved with the children. If you have any requests we can make announcements, run raffles, get the children up on stage for specialised performances and take music and song requests.

Do you have professional disco lights and equipment?

Jumbo Funk provides two JBL Party Box Speakers on speaker stands, DJ Mixer, Light up Limbo Sticks, MAX Partybar09 Multi-Effects Party Bar, Chauvet DJ GigBar 2 DJ Complete Light Set.

Do you require an educator present when running a disco or dance session?

As per the National Quality Framework (NQF) and the Education and Care Services Act 2013 (ECS Act). The following educator to child ratios must be met at all times 

Educator-to-child ratios for school age services (ECS Act)

The ratio for services with school age children is 1:15. In addition, there are minimum qualification requirements that apply when calculating ratios.

  • 1–15 children must have 1 Diploma qualified educator

  • 16–30 children must have 1 Diploma qualified educator and 1 other educator*

  • 31–45 children must have 1 Diploma qualified educator and 1 Certificate III qualified educator and 1 other educator*

  • 46–59 children must have 1 Diploma qualified educator and 1 Certificate III qualified educator and 2 other educators*

Do you have insurance?

Yes, the Jumbo Funk company have their own public liability insurance. 

A copy of all Certificates of Currency will be provided to the centre or school at the start of each new booking along with the instructor’s current Working With Children Check/Blue card.

What other services do you offer?

Some of our services include early education shows, dance discos, dance workshops, hip hop workshops, primary school dance workshops, community events, master of ceremony/hosting, birthday parties and shopping centers. 

What age group are the Early Childhood sessions designed for?

1 to 5 years. Our sessions are carefully tailored to the age group. We visit one room at a time and can deliver the session to multiple rooms in a day visit depending on the size of your centre. 

Can we request a different theme each week?

We recommend sticking with the same theme a few visits in a row so the children can gain confidence and consistency in what they are learning however we are happy to tailor the session themes to suit your centre and current learnings.

Do you require an educator present when running the Early Childhood Sessions?

*Limitations include:

  • The group may not include more than 4 children aged birth to 1 year

  • The group may not include more than 2 children aged birth to 1 year for each educator

  • If the group is in a centre-based service with a licensed capacity of more than 30, the group may not include more than 10 children aged birth to 2 years.

Do you cater to children with special needs?

Yes, every child is important to us and we want every child to feel included. If you have any special requests or concerns about particular children please feel free to contact us directly to discuss further so we can make the Jumbo Funk experience as relaxed and stress free as possible.
